Lakeline Park Phase I Improvements Project
Cultural Resources Survey
Williamson County, Texas
From September to October of 2019, aci environmental consulting conducted a cultural resources survey for the 185-acre Lakeline Park Phase I Improvements project in Cedar Park in Williamson County, Texas.
As a result of the survey, several new prehistoric, and historic-age archeological sites were recorded, including a partial nineteenth-century rock fence that was constructed as early as the late 1840s, but no later than the 1870s. After conducting extensive archival research and interviewing individuals associated with previous landowners, it was determined that the rock fence was eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
The project required continual coordination with the Texas Historical Commission (THC), representatives of the City of Cedar Park, local historical societies, local Williamson County residents, and knowledge of historic architecture and agricultural practices within central Texas.
